With everyone making new year resolutions, it's as good a time as any to ensure your website is performing well and will continue to do so during 2007.
Here are 10 resolutions you may wish to adopt:
- Review website statistics (page views, sales, visitor journeys, searches, etc) at least twice a month.
- Check the usability (navigation, search function, design, etc) of your website to ensure it's offering the best user experience.
- Ensure your website offers good accessibility.
- Make sure that your website is optimised for search engines.
- Review the functionality and backend technology of your site and update it where appropriate.
- Ensure your website is well written and suits you user's needs and not just your own. Make sure that it is concise as readers tend to scan rather than read web content.
- Update your website content regularly to help boost search engine rankings and encourage users to return.
- Promptly respond to all email or feedback sent to your site.
- Start a blog or keep your existing one updated.
- Be easy to approach - place your business contact details clearly on the website.
