What to get your techno-woman for Valentine's Day

Posted 14 February 2007 at 1:46PM by Alexa Williamson in Light relief

Martin and I were joking the other day how it's easy to buy geeky Valentine's Day presents for the man in your life (he said it, not me). Yet, it's not easy to know what a 'geekgirl' would want.

Therefore, I've been asked to solve the mystery.

What I want for Valentine's Day:

  • Apple iPod Nano - 8Gb Black - I thought about the pink one or the Apple iPod Video. But, I'm a girl and I don't want to watch videos on a small screen and pink isn't always 'in'.
  • Sharp 52" HD Ready LCD TV - not worth bothering with anything smaller. It's a good brand, wall mountable and includes a Freeview tuner. It's a 'little' on the expensive side, but hey if business is good, why not?
  • The classic Blackberry 8700 - it was a toss-up between this and the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 because it's so shiny and pretty. However the more substantial PDA, which you can type on more easily, won.

That's all I really want. Laptops and digital cameras are also good gifts, but these three are what really satisfy my techno-desires this V-day.
