Marathon result: Dragon's Den 1, Apprentice 0

I mentioned last week that Dragon's Den host Evan Davis, and last year's Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry were to be among the 36,000-odd hardy souls braving the 26 miles and 385 yards round London's marathon course.
Sunday's warm conditions took their toll, with St John's Ambulance treating over 5,000 people, of whom 73 were sent to hospital for further treatment (according to the BBC report). Veteran marathon runner Gordon Ramsay said it was like 'running in a desert'; rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson called the conditions 'brutal'.
But what of our business TV stars? Both, I'm glad to say, made it round successfully. Evan Davis registered a very respectable 4 hours 17, a little better than his predicted 4h30, and faster than Gordon Ramsay (although he reportedly stopped to help a fellow runner in difficulties). 'It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be,' he said, 'simply because the crowd and other runners kept me going.' But poor Evan - sounds like he's been bitten by the running bug. 'I would like to break four hours and I think I can do that.'
But Michelle outdid herself, managing 4h33 - much better than her 5h15 prediction. 'You wouldn't believe how pleased I am,' she said. 'I didn't stop all the way round. I'm tired but pleasantly tired because I was determined to run the marathon and not stop and start. I might well be back next year, who knows?'
