Fun on Friday: '...and that's Blockbusters!'

If you're of a certain age, your heart will melt when the opening credits begin, and that classic 80s theme tune strikes up. 'Please welcome the host of Blockbusters - Bob Holness!' Yes folks, it's back, almost exactly as you remember it... only this time, it's interactive.
Within a couple of seconds, you're facing that familiar yellow board. Your mission, as if you've forgotten, is to build a white line from top to bottom, whilst your computerised opponents construct a blue line from side to side. It's a fairly standard multiple-choice game, which does allow for some degree of 'buzz in and hope' - but you're only cheating yourself. The cuts between pre-recorded clips are sometimes less than seamless, but I'm prepared to forgive any game that measures its points in millions.
The London-based WeDigTV has also built broadband editions of other TV classics including Catchphrase, Family Fortunes and a particularly fine rendering of Countdown. You can 'play to win' by buying credits (with real money), but for a quick fix, you can jump in and play for free. The gameplay is interrupted now and then for an advert - but that just adds to the authenticity of the experience.

I quite liked the way this Fun on Friday story appeared alongside your other story on the same day "Half of office web traffic is non-productive" which added "all the more reason, then, to ensure you have a clear policy regarding what is and isn't acceptable". Still, it was Friday!
