The scoop on Microsoft's Windows Vista

Posted 2 February 2007 at 9:33AM by Alexa Williamson in IT systems and support

Finally, Windows Vista is out the door and on the shelves. There's been loads of development, loads of hype and loads of worries about hackers being able to breach it. But, what can it do for SMEs?

Here's an overview of the features that are specifically helpful for small businesses.

You can:

  • use your Vista-enabled computer with a wireless network
  • easily network with others
  • find what your looking for on your computer using just a few keywords
  • schedule backup of files
  • edit photos
  • send and receive faxes
  • protect yourself from online threats with built-in security
  • encrypt files

NB: The different versions have a varying number of features.

PCMag and C-Net also have a couple of useful reviews of Windows Vista.
