Internet marketing for the Christmas rush
Posted 11 December 2006 at 2:20PM by Alexa Williamson in Hints and tips
It may seem like just a typical, cold wet Monday in the UK. Actually though, it's the last two weeks before Christmas - one of the peak, if not the peak, shopping period of the year.
With this in mind, it's worth asking yourself, have you made the most of promoting yourself and your services or goods in the online environment this season?
To help you determine whether you have, we've come up with this checklist of marketing tips:
1. Offer your customers seasonal promotions and place them in a prominent space on your home page.
2. Email your customers and pitch any products or services that will be popular during the holiday season.
3. Prepare special holiday copy for any affiliates that promote your business. Then alert them and make the information and graphics they need to promote you easily accessible.
4. Consider doing an internet or SMS campaign to promote what you offer especially for the holidays. Internet options include banner adverts placed on key sites where potential customers visit as well as buying key search terms on search engines such as Yahoo!.
5. Make sure that your website or blog pages are search-engine optimised correctly so that they are picked up easily by Google and other engines that look for keyword phrases.
