Hints and tips: Personalising your homepage

Posted 11 October 2006 at 10:41AM by Martin Faux in Hints and tips

If you've logged into this website via our homepage you may have noticed that you now have a personal homepage which has a number of tools (modules), which I think you will find useful.

We've set your up your personal homepage with a default set of modules including :

- Your business bookmarks - a set of bookmarks to sites that we think may be of interest to your business. (This list can be maintained by the account holder and made available to other users in the company)
- Your bookmarks - a set of bookmarks that can be personal to you. Again we've applied an initial set to get you going.
- BT Business Today - which shows a summary of the last 5 articles we've added to the site.

However, you don't have to stick with the modules we've selected. To see a list of those available, go to "Manage your homepage".

From this page you can select the modules that you want to see on your homepage and as we add new modules this page will be updated.

Once you've selected the modules that you want to appear, you can decide the order in which they are shown on the page, perhaps the ones that you think you will use often being displayed towards the top of the page.

To change the order is quite easy. Proceed to the homepage and at the top of each module to the right of the title are two icons. The first allows you to minimise or maximise the module and the second allows you to move the module to a different location on the page. Simply click on the icon and drag it to your preferred location on the personal page.

Why not give it a go?

This is a very informative suggestion. Is there any plan to increase the data available concerning statistics and visits such as 1-2-1 offer ?

Thanks for your comment Lee.

We are working on a major refresh of our hosting products and services, which are due for launch early in the New Year.

I've been told by the product manager that the data that will be available will be much richer than we currently provide.

More on this soon.
