Planet-friendly phones from BT

Posted 28 January 2008 at 10:46AM by Hannah Gilchrist in Email and communications

Ethical and Green communityGoing green is set to become much easier thanks to a new series of planet-friendly phones from BT. OK, so they're not suitable for office use just yet, but give it time and you could soon be reducing electricity costs on your phone calls too.

The new handsets boast power units designed specifically to consume around half the power of previous units and also contributing significantly to cutting CO2 emissions.

Plus, with a reduced amount of packaging you're saving the trees too. This includes replacing the user guides with smaller 'quick-start' leaflets, whilst making the fuller, detailed guides available online or on request via the phone.

Don't go green with envy, go to the BT Shop to find out how to get hold of one.

I think companies could help reduce global warming by reducing the prices of some products which are clearly overpriced. Anyone see the article in the paper last December about the titanium and wood corkscrew that cost £30 000? Things of this nature surely contribute more to global warming as it raises my my temperature at least 5 degress thinking people actually pay that.
