Get web feeds delivered to your Blackberry

Posted 20 September 2006 at 8:01AM by Martin Faux in Email and communications

One of the first tasks of my day is to launch my feed reader and have a quick scan for anything new that might be of interest. Well the other day an item posted on TechCrunch caught my eye.

Last week I wrote a brief explanation on XML feeds and tools that you could use to read them.

The post on TechCrunch explains that you can get XML feeds delivered to your Blackberry.

Now I'm not a Blackberry user myself, but I know that a vast number of people rely on them, especially those who are out and about. So having your favourite news feeds delivered direct to your hip, seems a great idea.

The article explains that by using a tool called an "OPML Editor" it is possible to create a single set of news feeds known as a "mobile river" and also provides a link to the OPML Editor support site which explains how to set-up the feeds and configure your Blackberry.

This looks like a really useful add-on for any Blackberry user.
