Email enhancements for mobile users

Recently I attended a meeting with Microsoft and Paul Reece, BT's Head of Messaging and Web Hosting (impressive title!) to provide input on future improvements that could be made to outlook web access.
Paul explained that one of his more immediate plans is an upgrade to the hosting service used for business email, due in November.
He went on to tell me about some of the benefits of the upgrade, the key ones being the improvements it brings to people who access their email when out and about.
With the current set-up, a mobile device synchronises with the hosting service pulling down emails at regular intervals. This causes a delay in receiving messages.
With the new version this problem has been resolved. The hosting service is able to push out the emails as and when they arrive. Additionally, the speed at which they are sent and received has been improved, providing an enhanced experience.
So, if you already have either Business Email Plus or Business Email Plus Organise and Share and have a mobile device with Windows mobile 5 or an Exchange ActiveSync-enabled device then you will automatically benefit from these changes.
