Tradespace and video marketing

Posted 29 February 2008 at 2:02PM by Martin Faux in Doing business online

Back in January, Hannah asked the question, "Does viral marketing actually work?".

Reading through the comments you left, some answered with a resounding "Yes", the 'iphone in the blender" campaign being sited as one viral that was seen as a great success, whilst others were more sceptical.

On BT Tradespace, one of the features we provide, is the ability to promote your business via the use of video. We have a number of Tradespace sites that are making use of this, one in particular being the "Doc Strange eXperiMental Comedy Hypnotist Show" - no explanation needed as to what this business is about!

Take a look at their video (very funny!). Whilst I don't know how effective it's been at driving through real business - YouTube claim it's been viewed over 8 000 times, I'm sure that Doc Strange didn't spend tens of thousands of pounds to achieve this exposure.

Discuss the pro's and con's of viral marketing, over on the business blog community.

You Tube and the whole "Web 2.0" concept is a great way, in my view, to allow businesses to flourish and grow, this being one of many countless examples, to use this technology to promote their buisness.

Though I find it a bit odd that now BT are speaking about it, when the whole, "Is Viral Marketing good or bad for buisness?" debate has been going on for over a year now.

But just as long as the hulkomaniacs out there continue their usage of this, then this will be one happy hulkster indeed.
