The new way to send post?

Posted 28 April 2008 at 8:39AM by Melody Yau in Doing business online

First came the postal service, then came courier services and now, via the internet we have online services that allow us to send documents without leaving the comfort of our chair!

PDQit and Viapost are just two companies that send letters on customers' behalf; their services includes remotely printing out documents, putting them into an envelope, adding the necessary postage and sending it.

BT also offers a similar service via BT eSignature, a fast and secure way to get contracts and documents sent, tracked and filed. Unlike POIP technology (post-over-internet-protocol), BT eSignature doesn't involve printing off documents and using 'snail mail'. Simply login to the web site, insert an e-mail address, attach a document and press send; recipients will then be notified of the arrival of a new document and can view it online from a secure portal - a greener way to send post!

What's unique about BT eSignature is that it's also an electronic signature service that allows users to collect signature information within minutes, therefore reducing the time spent waiting for contracts and documents to be returned.

Get your free trial of BT eSignature now and see how much time you can save from sending documents online! Prices start from £5.99 per month to send an unlimited number of documents.

BT Have not developed e-mails yet. They are stuck in the stone age. That might be their next invention, or maybe they just might invent the wheel next?

"Two companies that send letters on customers behalf" - Why I ask - Mailshots maybe !!! - But the small company could not afford the expense. 1000 letters would cost £423. !!!

In the early 1970's I had a modem and keyboard attached to my telepone in my office.

Then the Micro's came in, in the 1980's together with email etc - If you worked for IBM in those days and you did not read your emails hourly you could face the sack.

We still have emails and excellent they are too. The trouble is that most people only read their email's maybe once a day instead of hourly.

What about the poor old FAX ??

And how is BT's E-signature same as PDQit and Viapost if I may ask?
