Survey shows high demand for home working

Posted 26 February 2007 at 9:59AM by Alexa Williamson in Doing business online

Did you know that only about 25 percent of all companies allow people to work from home at the moment? However, Martin pointed out an interesting survey last week that showed two-thirds of the employees polled will be demanding it within the next 5-10 years.

The research, by Affiniti, also showed:

  • 37 percent of those polled would only consider home working roles when applying for work in the future
  • the 25 percent of companies currently offering home working were experiencing much better recruitment rates than those that were not
  • home working is currently ranked as the biggest benefit in a job

So, how can you offer this benefit to your workers? BT can help you with products such as Remote Access Pack, which allows one to access the applications and files on their desktop PC from anywhere. It costs £7.50 (ex VAT) per month, however you can sign up for a free 30-day trial until 31 March.

Other products we offer that help enable home working include: Teleworker, BT Workspace and VoIP.
