Public sector contracts now available to all

As the Olympics gears up and more contracts are offered to small and medium sized businesses, it's now the turn of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) to open up more contract possibilities.
Between May and July, businesses will be able to view thousands of public sector contracts for the whole of the UK. The contracts will be available online at www.supply2.gov.uk and are valued at less than £100,000 with the aim to get more small businesses involved in government projects.
But is the BERR a bit too late to jump on the national contract bandwagon? Or should small businesses be embracing the opportunities?
