Find great new sites with Google Reader

Posted 13 February 2008 at 12:28PM by Ian Betteridge in Doing business online

Keeping up with your favourite sites is a lot easier thanks to RSS feed readers (and don't forget that this blog has its own RSS feed too - subscribe today!) But generally, feed readers don't help you discover good new stuff - only manage sites you already know about.

That's one of the reasons we love Google Reader. It includes a feature called "Shared Items", which lets you click on a button as you read through your feeds and share items with your friends. If you also subscribe to shared items from your friends, you'll find lots of new stuff you didn't know about too.

Like most things Google, Reader is free - find out more about it here. And if you'd like to subscribe to my shared items, you'll find the feed here.

Really good tip.
I often find myself forgetting about a product that I wasn't quite sure on purchasing from time to time and I can see how this can open avenues for me to explore more with friends that have the same interests as I do.
