Buying a domain? Read it carefully...
Posted 20 February 2008 at 8:14AM by Ian Betteridge in Doing business online
Getting the right domain name for your company is vital for virtually any business these days. Having a simple, memorable name online makes it easier for your customers to find you, and once found makes it easier for them to remember where you are.
But getting the wrong domain name can be even more costly. Words that look perfectly innocent when separated by spaces can mean something entirely different when crammed together as a single string of characters in a domain name.
There are some great examples of this over at Usefulweblinks.net - we're not going to list them all, but suffice to say that companies called Who Represents, Speed of Art, and Experts Exchange don't translate to domain names very well...

Thanks for all your suggestions on business names that don't work too well as domain names. They've been very amusing.
Regular readers will hopefully appreciate that I generally publish all comments that are received. However, on this one I fear that the blog may be opened to un-wanted spammers if I were to publish them.
Sorry!
