BT Website Creator is moving home
Posted 2 October 2007 at 12:26PM by Carl di Cicco in Doing business online
Blog watchers will know that BT Business has been rolling out a brand new Web Hosting service over the last couple of months.
Part of the process was to move all of our existing hosting customers from our old system to the new one. If you have your website with BT you most likely will have seen an email or two from us over the last couple of months taking you through the process.
One of the last batches we'll be moving are customers with the BT Website Creator - the simple to use "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) website tool that we introduced in 2002.
The new Website Centre is spoilt for website tools - there is the EasySiteWizard, EasyStoreMaker, Blog Tools, PhotoAlbum to name but a few.
Don't worry though, we're keeping faith with the Website Creator and if you have a site built using it you'll still be able to use the tool; only from today you'll have to access it from a new website address: http://wsc2.btconnect.com and use your new web hosting username and password.
These details will all have been emailed to your Primary Email address. For more information please visit our WSC help page.

Typical upgrade result! Now the website has disappeared on the internet and i can't access the website creator. Waiting patiently for both facilities to reappear!

This migration has been appallingly badly managed. No communication whatsoever received advising of the switchover. As a result currently unable to edit our website. Shocking, BT. Get it sorted.

I have finally got on to the new site but when I tried to manage my website I was blocked by aol saying they have had a lot of complaints and they are blocking the site, but I have tried to contact BT to tellthem there is a problem but I cant speak to the right person unless I pay 50p per minute to tell them that they have a problem

Not sure about the other comment, I got three emails (to my @btconnect.com) account, there were blog entries and FAQs, think the migration was well sign-posted, and now it's happened - welcome.
WSC has been kicked into the long-grass but I can still access it and my site is still there, but the new services are much much better - check out the EasySiteWizard, it's a huge leap forward. I'm already starting the rebuild process.

Thanks to those of you that have added comments against this article. Over the past 3 - 4 months we've migrated over 100,000 business sites. In that time we've used this blog, our Help & support area and sent three emails to each hosting customer to advertise and set out the imminent changes.
With a task of this size and complexity it's likely there will be a small number of accounts that experience initial problems. However, we look to resolve them as soon as they are known. We appreciate the feedback you've provided so far and are always looking to improve upon the service and support we provide.
You can find out more about these changes and the new services available to you by visiting our support area.
If you have questions which are not covered in our support area, please contact our website migration specialist helpdesk.
