BT Tradespacer of the week: IT For Business

Posted 12 October 2007 at 8:57AM by Martin Faux in Doing business online

IT For Business
IT For Business (IT4B) is a "not for profit" organisation that offers a range of IT related services to it's members.

If you take a look at their "About us" page you'll see they seem to provide a complete range of services, from Website design right through to eBay consultancy.

That's enough of a plug for IT4B, what about their Tradespace.

Well the reason I've picked this one is because I like the layout. It makes good use of the photo tool to show example web pages, they've used the featured items and they've also been plugged!

So why not join the ever increasing number of businesses that are using Tradespace, and promote your business.

No-Profit organisation charges £470 for a basic web design service? I wonder if it's a con or what? They talk about membership fee of £150. Yes that is even if you have problems or not. What about the future charges? So how do you think that their service is helpful to customers? I was quite tempted but then realised I can get my website designed for cheaper and I wouldn't have to take membership and later on end up with charges for any IT Support issues. Don't want to sound rude, but the company is here to make money not to give away free products are they?

I do agree with Mehta on this one, they are a bit expensive to create a professional looking website. Granted they maybe a company with over heads to pay, and designers to pay for, paying well over £400 for a site is expensive.

Recently graduating from University with a degree in Web Design and Development, I understand the complexities for developing a site, but I would charge a lot less for developing one. Not only is it vital for creating a professional looking site, meeting the client's needs, but having great customer satisfaction due to your great work and CHEAP prices are always a plus in my books!

Well no matter what you guys say, it is a good marketing strategies. I have been running my own business for a few years and I know how hard it is to get noticed. We offer free .co.uk and free hosting for a year with our web design packages which costs half of the price. As well as Software and IT Consultancy for an affordable price; But never got noticed by BT for providing cheap services. But hey at least this strategy made them Tradespacer of the week and may have generated a few leads as well!!!! lol
