BT Tradespace of the week : Taste&Buy

Posted 4 January 2008 at 9:48AM by Martin Faux in Doing business online

Taste&BuyWell it's a new year and if you haven't started your post Christmas detox, then Taste&Buy could be for you!

As well as being able to buy wines and champagnes direct, Taste&Buy offer a "new way of buying wines and champagnes through private parties".

Whilst their Tradespace is worth a visit, they have also set up a Tradespace community dedicated to the discussion of wines and champagnes.

Through their community, Taste&Buy are encouraging people to give comments on wines or champagnes tasted; ask them questions about their products and are providing an online area where you can make new contacts and perhaps even organise a wine tasting session!

So why not join it now. I have!

Oh and happy new year to all our readers!

This "new way of buying wines through private parties" is not at all a new idea. It was around in the late 70's and was re-invented again in the 80's. It's as new as washing powder!

Of course, the makers of washing powder would certainly claim there's lots new there :)

Seriously, though, it's interesting how good ideas do tend to come around over and over again. And what's good about the Taste and Buy idea is the combination of face-to-face sales backed-up by an internet presence that allows easy purchasing. Of course, other companies have done that before, but I think this is the first example in the wine business.
