Are you ready for mobile advertising?

Internet advertising is something that most companies will now be familiar with. But should you be considering mobile ads, too? According to JupiterResearch, spending on mobile advertising in Europe will reach €1.3 billion - nearly £1 billion - annually by 2012.
The biggest driver for this growth will undoubtedly be mobile use of the internet, which is set to explode over the next few years as the browser experience and speed of data on mobile networks improve. Jupiter estimates that by 2012 40% of Europeans will browse the mobile internet on a regular basis, but if anything, this seems a little low to me, as mobile companies push internet browsing and offer more net-based services.
Should you be considering mobile advertising? Certainly, if you offer a product or service that is purchased by consumers on an impulse basis, and which can be ordered via mobile, now might be the time to start having a look.
