Posted 22 January 2007 at 1:26PM by Alexa Williamson in Announcements
We've launched BT Business Total Broadband, our most complete broadband package, for SMEs yet.
As our managing director, Bill Murphy, put it: "for business customers... broadband is much more than just being able to send emails and having high speed access in the office." It's also about "business-grade... support, security, collaboration tools and wireless access."
So here's what's available to old and new customers:
Option 1 - £19.99 (ex VAT) per month:
- Fast connection - up to 8MB as standard speed
- 10GB monthly usage allowance
- 24/7 dedictated business helpdesk
- Internet Security Pack basic including: anti-virus protection and personal firewall
- Free Broadband Voice phoneline with own number and capped UK call rates
- BT Workspace Lite - secure, centralised information storage for your business
- Business essentials pack - includes 10 email addresses and 20MB of free web space
Option 2 - £26.99 (ex VAT) per month, includes the options above plus:
- Unlimited monthly usage allowance
- BT Business Hub
- 250 BT Openzone WiFi minutes to be used at thousands of hotspots around the UK
Option 3 - £40.50 (ex VAT) per month, includes all features in Options 1 + 2 plus:
- full Internet Security Pack protection with premium anti-virus, personal firewall and anti-spyware for 5 PCs
- IT Support Manager Licence
- the above two features would be worth £420 if purchased separately
New customers can sign up for BT Business Total Broadband services online and take advantage of the above asap.
Existing BT Business Total Broadband customers can easily upgrade to the new services. However, you will need to enter a new 12-month contract to do so.

All are far too expensive. For example, Option 1 should be £15 including VAT. It wasn't long ago that BT was forced to reduce from £30 excluding VAT with no extras. Why not lead the way with the best value package?

You must not use words and phrases your customers (me too) do not understand. Business Hub? Voice phonelines?
WiFi?

Alan, you are right - we should not use words like that without an explanation:
Business Hub is an advanced broadband modem that allows you to connect your devices to your broadband connection over a wired or wireless connection.
Broadband Voice phone line - allows you to make telephone calls over your broadband Internet connection.
WiFi - this simply refers to the technology that allows you to connect to the Internet using a wireless connection.
